Multidisciplinary - Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering
The team was tasked to design an interstage missile component for the upper part of a missile. This included specific design parameters of weight, dimensions, and strength. The part was to be modeled on Solidworks and then printed on the LM E290 3D aluminum printer located on the CU Denver campus. In addition to part design, the team was also tasked to do research regarding material properties of the printed aluminum from the E290. This included fatigue testing, finished versus non-finished properties, strength tests, and frequency testing. The finished design and results will be presented during the presentation.
