Current research in computer engineering and embedded systems covers a wide range of areas. Edge computing is the frontier of computing applications at the edge of connectivity to centralized and cloud systems. Edge computing enables a range of sensor technologies to communicate data that can then render advanced analytics. Computer vision and deep learning applied to convolutional neural networks (CNNs/DNNs) offers an enormous boost to the the field of computer vision. Deep learning enables AI for everyone and AI for everyone. Projects include face recognition and indexing, body activity inference, and object detection.
