The bachelor's/master's degree option in mechanical engineering allows students seeking a bachelor of science degree (BS) in mechanical engineering to count up to 12 credit hours of graduate-level coursework (5000-level or above) toward a BS degree and either a master of science (MS) or a master of engineering degree (MEng) at CU Denver.
Students interested in this option must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA and are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor in their junior or senior year for additional information regarding requirements.
Note: Completion of four 5000-level courses at the undergraduate level does not guarantee admission into a mechanical engineering graduate program.
The master’s degree is an advanced degree that provides students with the necessary training and technical knowledge to stay competitive in a rapidly changing field and to advance into leadership positions in industry or government institutions. A master’s degree also opens opportunities otherwise not available to graduates with only a bachelor’s degree. Graduates with an advanced degree typically receive higher entry-level salaries and have higher salaries on average throughout their career.
