The CU Denver master of science in mechanical engineering builds on the fundamentals of mechanical engineering typically learned in an undergraduate mechanical engineering program.
Students may choose from four areas of study:
The master of science in mechanical engineering requires 30 credit hours of coursework. Students choose one of three plans to complete their degree.
Plan I – Master’s Thesis
This plan requires 24 credit hours of formal coursework and 6 credit hours of thesis work.
Plan II – Master’s Report
This plan requires 27 credit hours of formal coursework plus 3 credit hours of a final project requiring a report.
Plan III – Course only
This plan requires 30 credit hours of formal course work plus a final comprehensive exam.
Students without an undergraduate degree in engineering must consult with a mechanical engineering advisor about potential prerequisite coursework.
