Mechanical Engineering BS/MS or BS/MEng option

The bachelor's/master's degree option in mechanical engineering allows students seeking a bachelor of science degree (BS) in mechanical engineering to count up to six credit hours of graduate-level coursework (5000-level or above) toward a BS degree and either a master of science (MS) or a master of engineering degree (MEng) at CU Denver.

Program Guidelines

  • The six credit hours of graduate-level coursework must meet the BS degree requirements in the MECH technical elective area as well as the requirements for the future graduate degree sought.
  • This option is open only to students who plan to seek both a BS and MS/MEng degree at CU Denver.
  • For the BS/MS option to apply, students must first be admitted to and complete the BS degree then must separately apply to and be admitted to a mechanical engineering graduate program.

Students interested in this option are strongly encouraged to meet with an advisor in their junior or senior year for additional information regarding requirements.

Note: Completion of two 5000-level courses at the undergraduate level does not guarantee admission into a mechanical engineering graduate program.
