Engineering Learning Community S-STEM Scholarships available for new freshmen

Earn up to $20,000 over two years

Planning to study engineering at CU Denver? Do you want to learn with like-minded students? Join the Engineering Learning Community in the College of Engineering, Design and Computing and apply for up to $10,000 in scholarships per year, for two years, funded by the National Science Foundation S-STEM program. Students in the Engineering Learning Community take classes designed to complement one another and to support success of first-year engineering students. Benefits of this learning community include a connected curriculum that fosters collaboration and community, as well as smaller class sizes. 

To be considered for Engineering Learning Community Scholarships students must:

  • be admitted to an engineering program at CU Denver
  • demonstrate financial need - visit fafsa.gov to complete  your FAFSA (school code 004508)

Preference is given to students who have at least a 3.0 high school GPA (weighted).

This project is part of a multi-institution “STEM Urban Collaboratory.”

Precalculus (MATH 1130), section 111 -or-
Calculus I (MATH 1401), section 111 -or-
Calculus II (MATH 2411), section 111

Course 2
Fundamentals of Engineering Design Innovation (ENGR 1200), section 111

Course 3
Core Composition I (ENGL 1020), section 111 -or-
Core Composition II (ENGL 2030), section 111

The Engineering Learning Community spans two years; scholarships are renewable for up to two years. All courses apply to your engineering degree.

NOTE: Participation in the Engineering Learning Community does not guarantee a scholarship.
