Safety Bath Mat
Project Abstract
This semester we created Shower Safe: a fall detecting shower mat. By utilizing force sensors on the mat and connecting it to smart phones and watches we are able to create a monitoring system for the elderly when showering, which will alleviate the need for a caretaker to be present during this intimate task. Other products are only preventative while our mat also deals with the aftermath of a fall. Overall, our product will increase safety and independence in the shower for the elderly.
Above is our visual abstract, we created a logo that is simple aesthetically pleasing. We created a log that is an alarm bell that has the shower droplets coming out of it, to show the two main points of our design.
