10 Oct. | Solar, Heliospheric, and INterplanetary Environment (SHINE)
NSF
The Solar-Terrestrial Research program in the Geospace Section of the Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences (AGS), National Science Foundation (NSF), solicits proposals to investigate the Solar Heliospheric & Interplanetary Environment (SHINE). SHINE is one of three targeted programs in the Geospace Section designed to address the question of how the Sun influences geospace and the upper atmosphere. SHINE proposals are solicited in three topic areas to generate advances in emerging areas of solar-terrestrial physics:

  • Inter-disciplinary SHINE science
  • Connections of the heliosphere with Earth's climate
  • Modeling and/or observational projects incorporating machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques
