A reissued, modified version of the Bioengineering Research Partnership Funding Opportunity Announcements titled Bioengineering Research Partnerships (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) and Bioengineering Research Partnerships (U01 Clinical Trial Required). The goal of the request is to drive the development and speed the adoption of promising tools and technologies that can address important biomedical problems for which insufficient or no solutions exist. The use of engineering principles is encouraged to establish these tools and technologies as robust, well-characterized solutions that fulfill an unmet need. A key change compared with the prior Bioengineering Research Partnership FOAs is that BPI applications must include at least one academic and one industrial organization.
