Professor Verma will share her own academic and professional journey as an educator and researcher. She will present her latest interdisciplinary (livedx.com). Livedx stands for lived experiences. LivedX resides at the intersection of educational research, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning to reduce educational inequities. Through the LivedX platform, she invites everyone to think beyond grades and GPA by being inclusive of our life stories to reshape, recraft, and broaden the notion of educational and professional success

Speaker Bio:

Geeta Verma is a professor of science education at the University of Colorado Denver. Her research interests focus on (in) equity issues in science education and she focuses on creating equitable, imaginative, and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning environments.  Geeta serves as the co- Editor in Chief for the Journal of Science Teacher Education and a past associate editor for the Journal of Research in Science Teaching. Geeta has founded LivedX.com, an online platform that accredits students’ lived and learned experiences to succeed in educational opportunities and the workplace.
