In honor of National PARK(ing) Day, WTS will be hosting a pop-up parklet in Larimer Square this Friday, September 20, from 9 AM - 6 PM! We will be taking over TWO parking spaces in Larimer Square and transforming them into places for people. Our re-imagined "Larimer's Living Room" will feature bike parking, active space for lawn and board games, as well as a chill space for reading, studying, or just lounging the day away. For a better idea of what we've got in store, check out our tentative site plan below.
For those of you who weren't able to come to our parklet planning and design meeting last week, there's still time to get involved! We still need help getting all the materials and supplies to make this parklet a success. If you have extra lounge chairs, yard games (cornhole or giant jenga, anyone?!), books, plants and/or planters, WE NEED YOU! We're also still looking for day-of volunteers to staff the parklet (aka hang out and look cool while letting passersby know they can come use the space).
If you have supplies to contribute or if you'd like to volunteer, sign up via this Google doc. You can bring things directly to the parklet on Friday morning during set-up time (7 - 9 AM), or drop things off in a box on the second floor of the CAP building anytime this week.
Even if you can't contribute supplies or volunteer, we hope you'll stop by and enjoy the parklet this Friday! We hope to see you there!
