New Student Convocation is the official welcome for all new students to the University of Colorado Denver. Similar to graduation being the end of a student’s university experience, this event marks the beginning of a student’s time at CU Denver and involves a pinning ceremony. This is an opportunity for incoming students to come together for their first official university event. 

The ceremony is preceded by receptions hosted by each of the schools and colleges that make up the University and followed by a bbq for students, parents, faculty and staff in attendance. All new students will receive a spirit shirt at the bbq.
