The certificate program in Data Science and Data Engineering will provide participants with advanced skills and abilities to design, build, manage, and critically evaluate data systems and analytical workflows to extract insight, ensure data integrity, support evidence-based decision-making, and address complex problems across personal, organizational, and global contexts.
This certificate is open to current CSMS students, qualified non-degree-seeking students, and graduate students enrolled in other CU Denver programs. Graduate students from outside CSMS must receive approval from both their home department and the certificate director prior to enrollment.
Participants should have prior knowledge in Fundamentals of Computing and Python Programming, Linear Algebra, and Algorithms. Familiarity with databases and basic software engineering principles is also recommended.

Students need to complete the following two graduate-level courses:
And two of the following:
*Prior approval of the director of the track & faculty advisor
Students must take and pass each course with a grade of B- or better and earn a GPA of at least 3.0 to obtain the Cyber Security and Defense Certificate.
