Cybersecurity Track — MS in Computer Science

The CYS/ADS Track is offered under the computer science Master of Science degree program for students who choose Plan I, Plan II, or Plan III.

The Cybersecurity track is designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving security challenges facing modern computing, networks, and critical infrastructure. The program combines a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity, networks, cyber defense, secure programming, and cryptography with applied electives that support workforce readiness in high-demand areas such as cloud computing, mobile and IoT security, cyber-physical systems, satellite systems, and AI-enabled cybersecurity. 

The track is intended to equip students with both the theoretical grounding and the practical perspective needed to contribute effectively in today’s cybersecurity workforce.

Eligibility

Students who are in the process of obtaining a Computer Science Master of Science degree are eligible.

Requirements

The Cybersecurity track requires the completion of the following requirements:

• A minimum of 30 total credit hours. 
• A minimum of 9 credits in Category A.
• A minimum of 18 credits (maximum of 21 credits) in Category B.

• Successful completion of degree requirements under Plan I, Plan II, or Plan III.
